Last week (March 11) it was exactly one year since Japan was hit by the tsunami which did untold damage. While impossible to fully comprehend the suffering the Japanese have endured, another victim of the tsunami is Japan’s tourism industry, which is down 35% and far from recovering.
We all have a picture of a country in ruins stuck in our minds and the same goes for the web. A brilliant new campaign has turned existing tourists in the country into social media ambassadors by offering them free Wifi in return for sharing their photos online. Whoever thought of this deserves an award!
