Melbourne based integrated marketing outfit Grafitti (part of Grey Group) are taking Cottee’s Ice Magic to another level of consumer awareness with an edgy Youtube video.
Their challenge was to leverage the Ice Magic brand in a modern way that appealed to a wider audience; captivating and bewitching kids, and stirring up feelings of nostalgia in adults.
With this in mind, Grey Group came up with the idea of filming a graffiti artist using chocolate and caramel Ice Magic to create a whimsical mural on a 150L slab of ice cream.
Graffiti then set to work organising the shoot, which took place in a -19 degree freezer, over 9 hours. 100 bottles of Ice Magic were used. The footage, which incorporated time-lapse and beautifully shot cut aways, was then edited into a sharp, one minute clip and uploaded to YouTube and featured on the Ice Magic Facebook page. The video had more than 5000 views within the first week of it being uploaded, and sparked animated discussion on Facebook.
The word is that on February 20 there will be an exciting new element added to the project, so keep an eye on the Ice Magic Facebook page for more info…
